1. Arb|Aut Summer Drinks
Following the YAAP summer drinks in previous years, some of our members suggested to organise an informal summer event for Arb|Aut and YAAP members.
We are happy to follow this suggestion and cordially invite you to this year’s joint Arb|Aut and YAAP summer drinks taking place on
20 July 2016, 20:00 at Summerstage, Vienna

2. The Pledge
Arb|Aut recognises the importance of (gender) diversity in international arbitration.
Consequently, the board of Arb|Aut signed up the recently-launched PLEDGE for Equal Representation in Arbitration as an organization (for more details, see
www.arbitrationpledge.com).
3. Arb|Aut Forum
On 31 May 2016, the first “Arb|Aut Forum” was held at the University of Vienna.
Prof. Paul Oberhammer expressed a welcome to the participants and gave some background information on arbitration in Austria.
Florian Haugeneder (KNOETZL) presented a sharp analysis of the first decisions of the Austrian Supreme Court following the SchiedsRÄG 2013 (OGH 10.10.2014,
18 OCg 2/14i; OGH 23.06.2015,
18 OCg 1/15v; OGH 19.08.2015,
18 OCG 2/15s and OGH 23.02.2016,
18 OCg 3/15p).
Following a short presentation of recent activities of the board of Arb|Aut, drinks and refreshments have been served.

4. Save the Dates
On
30 September 2016 LIS, ASA and Arb|Aut hold the fourth joint
Dreiländer-Konferenz in Schaan, Liechtenstein.
Topics include (1) confidentiality in arbitration proceedings; (2) res judicata of arbitral awards and (3) the impact of European law on arbitration.

8 and 9 November 2016, ICC Austria holds a seminar on
“Sanctions & Embargoes, US/EU-Export- & Re-Export Controls for Banks and Corporates” in Vienna. For more details and registration, please

The
Vienna Arbitration Days 2017 focusing on the topic
“Repositioning Arbitration” will be held on
24 and 25 February 2017.
The organizers are proud to announce that current ICCA President
Donald Francis Donovan will deliver a keynote speech.
