Dear members,
April was a busy month for the arbitration community, we want to provide a short summary of the events that took place.
1. VIS Moot 2017
The 24th Vis Moot was again a huge success. Around 330 teams from all over the world competed at five different venues and transformed Vienna into the capital of arbitration once again.
We congratulate the
University of Ottawa which received the
Eric E. Bergsten Award Team Orals.
We are proud that the team of the
University of Vienna received
honourable mentions for
Team Orals and
Best Memorandum for Respondent.

2. Bergsten Lecture 2017
The annual lecture in in honour of Professor Eric Bergsten was delivered by
Cherie Blair, CBE, QC (Omnia Strategy LLP, London) this year. Cherie held a brilliant lecture on "
Wikileaks & Beyond: Admissibility of Improperly Obtained Evidence in International Arbitration".
Professor
Paul Oberhammer (Faculty of Law, University of Vienna) chaired the following panel discussion with
Florian Kremslehner (Dorda, Vienna) and
Professor Stefan Kröll (Director Vis-Moot) as panel speakers.
More than 200 participants from numerous jurisdictions attended the lecture and the cocktail reception at the Sky Lounge jointly hosted by Arb|Aut and VIAC. Pictures can be found in the

3. Arb|Aut Secretariat
We welcome
Anna Faruga as new Secretary to Arb|Aut. She took over from Barbara Sesser and can be reached at
