programme consists of the following 4 sessions:
Session one: The effect of sanctions on arbitration
Session two: The GAR Live Inquisition – are international arbitration counsel at home in big law firms and arbitrators in boutiques?
Session three: The GAR Live Question Time - due process paranoia and corruption
Session four: The GAR Live Debate on the motion: "This house believes that the Prague Rules are a waste of time."
The Event will conclude with a networking cocktail on the roof-top of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.

3rd Freshfield’s Women in Arbitration and International Law breakfast
For the third time already, Freshfield's Vienna office will open its doors on
Saturday,19 October 2019
at the rooftop terrace of the 25 Hours Hotel

to focus on the role of women in arbitration. The title of this year's event is
“The ABC of Women in Arbitration – Authentic, Balanced, Committed”
A panel of three prominent female lawyers,
Lucy Greenwood, Catherine Kessedjian and
Ioana Knoll-Tudor will provide insights into their personal experiences, the challenges they have faced and continue to face and how, in their opinion, the goal of parity can best be achieved.
Life Coach
Àine Morgan-Bauer will give an outsider's perspective on how gender parity may be achieved.
The panel will be moderated by
Niamh Leinwather, Freshfields, Vienna.
The
Key Note speaker is
Dana Denis-Smith, CEO of Obelisk Support and the First100Years project who will give an insight into where women have come from in the last 100 years and where we are going.

Austrian Arbitration Academy - Winterschool
The 4th edition of the Winter School will again take place from
Tuesday, 18 February 2020 to Saturday, 22 February 2020
at the Juridicum Vienna,

On Friday and Saturday, all participants will attend the Vienna Arbitration Days, the leading arbitration conference in Austria (registration fee included).

The Austrian Arbitration Academy - Arbitration Rules in Practice is an intensive, five-day programme on international commercial arbitration from an institutional perspective and addresses young arbitration practitioners and PhD and diploma students. It is jointly organized by the Sommerhochschule of the Vienna University, Arb|Aut, YAAP and VIAC.
The
keynote will be delivered by
Prof. Giuditta Cordero Moss on the topic
“The balance between party autonomy and court control, and its effects on arbitrability”.
